Echo Lake…due east of home, along a dirt and gravel road over the foothills. On a weekday morning, there is minimal activity on the water – a few fisherman, a few waterskiers.
We access this piece of lakeshore from a public fishing access site. There is a nice trail around an inlet that provides plenty in the way of things to explore for Karl and beautiful vistas for me. We have a long amble as it is cool now, but getting warm on its way to hot.

Still water, so still that without the perspective of the shoreline there was that illusion that it was possible to fall into the sky.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
I can’t help but think of that verse when standing at this point on the lake on a day like this day.
Be peaceful, be quiet, be still.

Saturday, Karl and I went to Wayfarer’s Park on Flathead Lake – a favorite walking spot just south of Bigfork. I didn’t know how our usual path would be for walking so headed all the way to the boat ramp parking area.

It was not as cold as it looks in the photos. It was nearly 40 and I was comfortable with no gloves and no hat.

Most of the snow beach is under water in the summer. There were a couple of candidates for my Flathead Lake Monster.

Karl had a good roll in the snow…

and he smiled.
