Pueblo, CO morning with a view of Pikes Peak

The sun rose and subtly colored the sky…

…but it lit the high desert and Pikes Peak to the west.

Breakfast has been had and we are letting things warm up and thaw a bit before heading south. We drove through several snow squalls yesterday and they left behind a bit of ice and snow pack. We are at about 5700 feet here in Pueblo and will ascend to 7000 plus or minus over Raton Pass into New Mexico.

Later from the “Land of Enchantment”.

WOW – Check Steve’s Flickr – he got a spectacular shot this morning!

  • I think the colors look great!!

  • Beautiful pictures, as usual!

  • WOW is right! That shot of the golden sage brush is more than spectacular! Oh, I wish I loved closer to you guys so you could teach me how to take pictures! Oh, first you say I need a better camera, uh? Well, maybe one of these days………Thank you both for sharing.

  • Well… we never saw Pikes Peak while traveling through CO. So glad you took us there!
Beautiful light and colors and love the frosty Bokeh!

  • Thanks all!

Marge, Although you can’t make a bad photo great, we do both use Photoshop – easier than the darkroom but we use those tools in PS that mimic what photographers of old did in the darkroom. It would be great if they came out of the camera “perfect”, but they don’t :)!
