One of the great benefits of blogging has been the people I’ve “met” – people who found From the Front Porch and read, look, comment and email. I’m not sure that I have words to describe what it feels like when someone shares a common experience or an appreciation of the writing and photography here, but I can tell you that it brings me great joy.
But I’m not the only one who has made good friendships via the blog.
Karl has a special friend in Florida – Bob Blackburn. Bob wanted to do something special for Karl.
The treats arrived this week. There was much excitement as the package was sniffed and I told Karl that there was something for him from his special friend.
Oh, boy!
Both treats have been possessed and are currently being guarded carefully.
Bob, Karl says: “Thank you very much for the good treats and please come visit and bring more!”

Awww… how sweet! Karl looks like he’s having a great interlude with his treats. Now how long will they be whole? Hope he enjoys them!
That is just so nice! Karl is a lucky dog and he looks as though he really appreciates his treats. Great pictures of him, too. I love the way dogs hold things between their paws like that.We have been without our dog for almost a year now and we miss him every day and seeing Karl somehow makes up for it a bit, so thanks Ann for sharing him and Bob with us.
Wow! How nice and gentle the couple Bob and Debra!
Looks Karl LOVED his treats!
Karl, I happen to know Bob personally, and you have a great friend in him! He is the best! (You’re pretty cute yourself, Karl!)
Karl, what a friend you have in Bob. Enjoy. Make them last a little while. Nice story, Ann.
Ann I was just thinking on the drive to work this week how much we enjoyed visiting with you ! You are so right , blogs are a great way to reach out and connect with others, Karl is a lucky guy, love the pictures of Bob sleeping, sweet boys.
