  • I know this scene quite well. Great shot :)

  • My that does look familiar! nice light…

  • Hi Ann,
It is so darn beautiful where you live that I went on Google earth yesterday to look around.
( I had a little time on my hands )
Sometimes here in the city, you think there are no wide open spaces left but your incredible
photography makes me realize there are a lot of beautiful places left in this amazing
    country. Thank you for sharing!

  • Thanks Leesa and Reamus!

Hilary, How nice that you took a look around! There is still a lot of the big, wide open! More in the west than in the east. Whether in the motorhome or flying, I am always amazed also. Thanks for sharing that you looked around.

And in case you, or anyone want to see the lay of the land where I am, my address is 785 La Brant Rd., Kalispell, MT, 59901. The Road Home photos are taken from a small bluff on La Brant, maybe 1/8 of a mile from La Brant and Hwy 35 (east of 35). If you pan west from 35 you’ll see the South Fork River winding around…follow it south to Flathead Lake, north to Glacier National Park.

From what I know of my own property as well as some of the nearby properties, the satellite photos are at least 5 years old.

    Ann

  • I love how the colors go from brownish/golden to green and then onto the blue mountains and the wispy clouds in the sky.

I’m off to Google earth right now … what fun!

  • I’m sniffin’ that hay right now!!!!!

  • I always love it when you do “The Road Home “.
Beautiful at any time of the year! Love to smell fresh cut hay…

  • I keep forgetting something else…early last Winter, Regis, who lives in Belgium, asked me how I got power or if I even had it…no power lines in the photos. There are no power lines in acuality either, at least not on my road. About a year before I bought this house, the power was run underground on my road. It is still above ground along the highway.

The newer houses along La Brant and most places around already had underground power as did the large acre subdivision that is on my east border. Now we all have it – no wires! I don’t think about it unless I’m taking photos where there are power lines in the way. Sometimes they are interesting but I really like that more and more often, they are not in the landscape.
