Friday morning

Ending the week as we started with an early morning walk by Echo Lake.

I have been pounding the keyboard all week. The nights and following mornings have been deliciously cool and crisp with days of warm sunshine. Today, the end of the work week, is a bit more relaxed and I will finish early afternoon and run some errands. I have it on good authority (Russ, my UPS man!) that the chip sealing on the highway is complete. The weekend is supposed to be warmer, maybe even hot by MT standards, so I will do all of my out and abouting today leaving the weekend free for lazing about mostly…the darn floors and such are dusty again and I cleaned them not two or three weeks ago…

A happy and joyful Friday to all!

  • Hey… Your floors are like mine! I turn around two weeks later and they’re dirty again; I can’t/don’t/won’t understand how that happens! :D

  • I’m with you Ann … a busy/intense week here and looking forward to a lazy week end, and Buck, blame it on the neighbors, that’s what I always do! If it’s dirty floors, overwhelming laundry, whatever, I blame it on the neighbors because we certainly couldn’t have created such a mess!!!

  • There’s just no point to cleaning floors until you can see the pathway through the dust. Then, if it’s worth cleaning, it’s an opportunity to rearrange the furniture and create a whole new world.

  • Oh, Beth…your comment is so timely! After getting home this afternoon, I was brushing Karl… I thought we had peaked on the removal of the Winter undercoat, but it was just the end of round 1. After brushing out a huge pile of hair I thought to myself that it was absolutely SILLY to spend much time dusting and cleaning floors when it was obvious that Mr. Hair Machine was going to add dust bunnies faster than I could eradicate them! So….I will run a dust cloth over the tops of stuff, do a quick vacuum (that sends all the d.b.’s scurrying under stuff) and call it good :)!

Then I saw your comment and the deal was sealed!!! My small house and amount of furniture make rearranging a bit dicey, but at least once a year I DO move the bed, gasp and clean that bit of floor. As far as behind appliances – that I have to leave for when I’m feeling extra brave…

  • Love the silhouette of Karl in this photo. As for dust, I have a sign on my studio door that says “You can touch the dust…just don’t write your name in it”!! Another says “A clean house is a sign of a misspent life”. I find so many other interesting things to do that take precedence over cleaning, and after all, the dust will still be there tomorrow.. Does that sound like something from a movie? A toast to everyone for the weekend.

  • What a nice picture of Karl, the mountains and the reflection in the lake… love the shades of blue w/the gold.

As for dust bunnies and cleaning floors… didn’t happen today… did the “lazing about” thing!
