  • Happy 4th of July Ann!

  • Happy 4th Ann and what a great picture! The American Flag waving over “The Road Home”!
    Perfect! J. will love this!
    How did you do that?

  • Happy 4th back to Pat, Firefox and Sandy!

Sandy, Basically a “double exposure” but done in Photoshop. I took the flag photo last week when the breeze was blowing the flags out and nothing but blue sky overhead, but fortunately hazy blue. Took the “road home” photo a week or so ago. In PS, put the Flag on top of the “road home” as a layer and adjusted the opacity of the flag layer until it looked like I wanted. Usually you would have to then use a layer mask and/or blend tool to “erase” the top layer background – OR “cut” the flag from the original and paste it, but because the background was such a light blue, when the opacity was decreased it was fine.

  • Well, however you did it, it is a great shot!

    Happy fourth.

  • Okay – THAT is simply beautiful.

  • Happy Independence Day, Ann. Well-done on the Photoshop!

  • Got a lump in my throat at this one. Thank you.

  • Ann, beautiful picture, happy 4th and hope karl is outside

  • Thank you all! I love doing this kind of thing every once in awhile.

I’m thinking you meant “inside” bob blackburn and we were all in shortly after 6 p.m. I was feeling good about getting Karl out as late as 6 for a short walk. Just as we were walking toward the house, the first firecrackers started so we were inside quickly. But there have been years when they started in the early afternoon so I was thrilled that we were out as late as 6. The evening went downhill from there – very loud from after 9 until midnight despite the fact I had my behemoth A/C, a fan and tv going. Bah, humbug!

  • Great photo, as usual.

I don’t like letting the kittehs near the outside, especially with the noise. Fireworks have got to play some havoc with dog and cat ears.
