Melissa,
Have to tell you, people who express interest in Karl when we are out and about invariably say that he’s handsome to the point where he seems to recognize the words and immediately gets this look of disinterest which I interpret as “yea, yea, I’ve heard it before…”.
This photo is what I call the “serious and professional” Karl. I was quite a distance away, but had my largest zoom lens on and was hoping to catch him if he turned (also hoping to catch the pair of eagles that I OFTEN see if I don’t have the zoom :) !). He is on a bit of a ridge where he often stops, sits and just watches for a bit. It looks down into a small valley, but also out across the larger valley towards the divide. I sometimes sit with him – it is a good spot to watch from.
Montucky,
There is 6-12 inches depending on location, still around…plus humongous snowbanks from my roof and plowing! You can see ground in the tree wells, though and it is completely different on the valley floor – nearly bare ground. I’m maybe 200 feet higher.
I’m thinking you will get your wish…seems like we always get a storm or 2 or 3 just when it seems like it should be done.
Ann, your Karl-dog is so handsome!

Karl looks almost like he has a tuxedo on, complete with red tie! He is a handsome guy, for sure.
What a great photo, with all of the snow! Ours is mostly gone around here and I have been hoping for more before it warms up too much.
