As we were driving along the lake late this morning, Bill commented that it was a perfect day - perfect temperture (mid-70’s), mild breeze, sunny, not a cloud in the sky…the lake was sparkly blue and every boat launch area filled with empty boat trailers. We drove around Flathead Lake again, although in the truck this time and with a purpose. We have reservations at an RV park in Polson at the southern end of the lake for a boat race next weekend. We went to get a look at the park and the access.
The park is fine and on a beautiful spot on the Flathead River where it leaves Flathead Lake. There is a large turn around area near the river and we’ve been told taking the 4 wheeler and watching the activity from it is not a problem. It is not a large rv park so looks like this is all doable.

From the turnaround, east to the town of Polson across the bridge above and below, down the river to the west.

We continued around the lake and I requested a return through Somers, Montana. I wanted to take some photos of this barn and having a driver seemed a good time to do it. My most excellent driver obliged … I love the shape of this barn and its spot in the field with the lake beyond. If it is ever for sale…

And the below photo for Bill. He loves these trees - this photo does not do them justice. Their leaves are a soft, silvery, sage green that look beautiful when the breeze moves them. The trunks are a bit gnarly. If someone can tell what they are from the photo, he’d like to know.

A picture perfect weekend…
