Several weeks ago, Bill noticed plants growing out of what I had told him was a “junk” pile of wood, debris and dirt from leveling the rv pad and then the garden. I went to see and recognized the Iris that had been in a short flower border in the old garden. Funny, but I didn’t really have anywhere to move them and we were in the middle of doing the electric service to the garage.
Last week, I remembered them and went to see if the deer had left anything…

It is a bit ironic - last year there was only one nice bloom and 2 half-hearted blooms. I thought the iris had suffered the same fate as the fruit trees - damage from the summer of neglect with no one in the house - between owners. Maybe they just needed a different spot?

Yesterday, I went out again to look and enjoy… I don’t know where the Columbine came from - just this one - so pretty!

The “junk” pile was to be hauled away. Now, I’m thinking that I may need to leave that one corner and let the iris and columbine be - they are happy there and look beautiful in amongst the woods ivy and grasses. I enjoy that bit of wild and natural look more than the flat bed where they stood all in a row. And what a fun little walk out to look at them.
