Yesterday late morning, I combined a lunchtime errand run with a stop at the state park to let Karl play in the lake. After a drink and cool off in the water, we walked a short way up a loop path to where there is a rocky overlook.

I take a LOT of photos and there are plenty where he or scenery or whatever look goofy, but when you take a bunch, at least a few are bound to be good!
He DOES have a beautiful physique - Northern Breed large chest, small rear - and his markings play that up. The natural stance of a Northern breed is that chest out, head up, tail curled stance - when they are “at attention”. I try to catch him that way or say something.
If you haven’t looked at his “baby pictures” - take a look at the post listed in favorites: “Karl Karelian Bear Dog”…even as a new puppy he had beautiful proportions and he never lost them as he grew.
I’m not biased or anything….
