First off, for those concerned, we are both still alive this morning after yesterday’s gluttony…and the gluttony wasn’t as bad as portrayed. We ran out of steam and didn’t fix everything we intended. Plus, astonishingly, we were able to pace ourselves a bit and sample things and put the rest away - we will be eating 7 layer dip, chicken wings and Italian Beef sandwiches all week…
More confessions…I am not really on the front porch. My intent was to sit on the front porch and write this morning, but by the time I got all the photos uploaded and juggled my coffee and laptop to the front porch the sun was up enough to be shining directly in my left eye and glaring on the computer screen so I sat there a minute and enjoyed the morning air before shlepping all and myself back inside where I write from the front room. (”front room” is Bill’s terminology for what I would call the living room - I really like front room and have adopted that!)
Above - the Florida front porch from all angles - just before sunrise and tomorrow I will hopefully get myself out there a bit earlier as it is a pretty and peaceful place to sit and contemplate. I have been doing some research on the “American Front Porch” and its role in society - interesting - and I’ll share later… Work has ramped up a bit - yeah!! and I’ve been working on revamping this site so that it is more personal and also I think the new site will look better across more browser platforms and viewing resolutions. At any rate, all as I have time.
