Super Bowl Sunday - an American Holiday! Really, it is… Bill and I are not regular football game watchers but the playoffs and hype leading up to today and TODAY!!! And it is only a little bit about the actual game - although this year with the Patriots streak of wins, it is a bit more about the game than other years. But it is also about the commercials and half time and the pre and post game stuff. How crazy will things get THIS year? We will be watching to see.
Oh and we will be noshing! - because Super Bowl Sunday is also about the food…
Mexican 7 Layer Dip - this is more than dip, this is lunch - pre-pre game while we’re fixin’ the other stuff. Hey! - all the food groups are there.
Italian Beef Sandwiches - now these are the crown jewel of the Super Bowl Sunday food extravaganza. Bill made these for the group get together in Texas and they received raves and recipe requests - I believe the offer of bribes was discussed…
Hot ‘n Spicy Chicken Wings…another Bill recipe which will be a new experience for me today. And for those who know Bill - no HE did not buy 100% natural, no hormones, etc. wings… I was sent into WalMart - on a Friday, on the first of the month no less!!! - so, I exercised a bit of carte blanche…
Macaroni Salad - this is my doing from my Grandmother Ruth’s recipe…still to be added, petite peas.
Ok, this is the dip - this is in case we get the munchies between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner or during the game.
During the game snacks, of course!
