First, we had a wonderful New Year’s Day - just a gentle day filled with sunshine, a brisk breeze, easy companionship and naturally, an outstanding dinner!
So, today - the after the holiday day - the “back to normal” day… I was remembering a line that I particularly like from an Oswald Chambers entry - about being uncertain of what a day might bring and his comment that usually we approach uncertainty with a kind of sadness when really, we could approach it with “breathless expectation”…
Say this line twice: “O, God what will today bring?” - once in trepidation and once in “breathless expectation” - the second as a child might say on Christmas morning. Get the difference? It is the whole attitude thing…
The Oswald Chambers entry with this line I like is from the April 29th entry in “My Utmost for His Highest” - click here to see the entire entry. It is titled “The Graciousness of Uncertainty” - PERFECT!
Happy, Joyful, Full of Surprises 2008 each and every day. My goal is to start every day with breathless expectation.
