Whooeee!! Karl and I had our first bus trip last weekend – short trip to Georgia to visit friends. Karl found his riding place on the floor between the front seats and sometimes on the step cover by my feet. I LOVE my seat – comfy leather, nice, wide recliner chair. There are cup holders all over and plenty of room for “stuff” next to me. AND…I can get up and fetch drinks, snacks, find what’s making that awful clanking noise… The best part, though, is travelling with someone I care about and the easy talking, sharing, dreaming and “Oh, look at that!”…
The drive into Georgia was beautiful – all rural roads through picturesque towns, beautiful plantations, pecan orchards that looked like well maintained parks. Several of the roads had trees bordering the roads with the tree branches forming a cozy canopy over the road.

We were talking about peanuts and a southern “delicacy” – boiled peanuts – saw a stand so stopped and bought some – 2 men selling the peanuts, vegetables and some canned items out of the back of a truck. The peanuts were on the boil and he fished mine out of the pot into a zip loc… delicious!! And messy… The grandchildren of friends we visited demolished about half of them.
A great visit and beautiful drive through a part of the country I haven’t seen before – perfect first bus ride.
